Solving Philips LCD Monitor Problem

Got my Philips 190CW LCD monitor in 2008. Now from times to times the “brightness” option shows up and changes to ‘0’ without pressing any button on the monitor. The brightness control window is in the middle of the screen and no matter what I do, it keeps coming back. Maybe the brightness is automatically controlled by a “Brightness Sensor”?

One solution is to jammed a bit of paper in the ‘auto’ button to keep it pressed. That allows you to see the whole screen. I use a paper clip to hold the button and it works.

How to Root Xiaomi Redmi / Hongmi / Red Rice?

I’m sure some of you have tried Framaroot, a one-click apk to root your new devices. Unfortunately Version 1.9.1 does not works with MIUI version 13.0 onwards.

Not to worry, there is another way to root it. You need Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) solution. Follow the steps below:

1. From the thread link above, download both the TWRP.zip and root-stable.zip files and copy them to your sdcard.

2. Shut-down your device and then power on and go to boot mode and select recovery mode.

3. From the menu, navigate to APPLY UPDATE FROM SDCARD2. Select the TWRP.zip and install it then shut-down again.

4. Power up the device and go to recovery mode again.

5. From the TWRP Recovery menu, press the install button and find the root-stable.zip. This will root your device. Voila!
