Anugerah Planet Muzik 2012

Anugerah Planet Muzik is the only regional Malay music awards showcase that gives recognition to artistes in Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.

It was first staged in 2001 in Singapore and has since been a popular annual event that captures media attention within the region.

The event is organized by Ria 89.7 FM and Warna 94.2 FM, Radio Division, Mediacorp Pte Ltd.

The prestigious Anugerah Planet Muzik (APM) returns for the 11th year on Saturday, 15 December 2012, 8:30pm at Max Pavilion, Singapore Expo. The annual award ceremony that gives recognition to artistes and musicians of the regional Malay music scene, that promises to inject new elements to the award categories and also to up the ante of the show’s entertainment value.

The star studded awards ceremony, organized by MediaCorp’s Ria 89.7FM and Warna 94.2FM, APM 2012 will showcase the collaboration of artistes from Singapore Malaysia & Indonesia.

Other than awards like “Most Popular Song”, “Most Popular Artiste”, “Best Male Artiste”, “Best Female Artiste”, APM 2012 will see the debut of several new award categories. The newly introduced awards include “Radio Hits of the Year”, New Media Icon” and “New Media Nova” Awards. The new award categories aim to make the award show relevant with changing entertainment consumption trends which is shaped immensely by the rapid development the information technology.

This being APM’s 11th year, we look forward to organizing more activities, leading up to a memorable evening of entertainment with APM’s rendition of a celebration of music.

SHINee Concert SHINee World II in Singapore

With the promise of an action-packed concert with special effects and diverse music genres and styles superceding its previous concert tour; fans who have been anticipating the SHINee World II Singapore concert will be able to see their favourite K-pop group 8 Dec 2012 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium for a one-night only concert.

With a performance holding a production price-tag of more than S$1.8 million, SHINee World II Singapore will be accompanied by special effects such as pyrotechnics, water features and aerial stunts in a multi-sensory performance that borders between an unbelievable eye spectacle and a R&B/Rock concert that defies extremes. SHINee World II Singapore will also see the biggest mosh pit to be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium with over 1,200 square metres of free-standing space.

SHINee, consisting of members Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho and Taemin, are known for their smooth R&B tunes, sleek dance moves and iconic fashion style featuring high-top sneakers, skinny jeans and colourful sweaters dubbed the “Shinee Trend”. SHINee staged their first world tour “SHINee World” in Singapore on 10 September 2011, which saw tickets selling out in 45 minutes.

With a group that has visibly matured to ‘senior’ since their debut in 2008, “Shawols” or SHINee fanscan look forward to a diverse range of musical genresin SHINee World II Singapore; with music ranging from heavy rock music and bold dance moves, to softer cheerier R&B styles reminiscent of their earlier years.

SHINee World II began in Seoul on 21 Jul 2012 to a sold-out 20,000 crowd; and will travel to countries throughout Asia including Taipei, Hong Kong and Singapore. SHINee World II Singapore will be held 8 Dec 2012 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

J LO Dance Again World Tour

International superstar Jennifer Lopez has added Singapore as one her stops in the Asian leg of her ”Dance Again World Tour 2012”. She will make her debut in Singapore for a one-night-only concert at The Meadow, Gardens By The Bay on Tuesday, 4 December 2012.

JLo kicked off her first ever world tour on 14 June this year. There have been rave reviews from South America, North America and her European leg of the tour. The show will feature sexy dancing and a myriad of dazzeling costumes designed by the talented, Zuhair Murad, who has also dressed other celebrities such as Blake Lively, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry.

In addition, the concerts in Europe, Asia and Australia will be recorded and produced into a 3D film with added documentary-style content, touching on her personal and professional life. The 3D film will be released in 2013.

‘Dance Again… the Hits’ was released in July 2012 with its title track, ‘Dance Again’ featuring Pitbull giving J Lo her 12th number one song on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs Chart. Following that, ‘Goin’ In’ featuring Flo Rida gave J Lo her 13th number one (8th Artist with the most number one hits) and 10th consecutive number one hit matching Katy Perry’s record.

Najwa Latif – Live In Singapore

Imratul Najwa binti Abdul Latif (born 23 May 1995), or professionally known as Najwa Latif, is a Malaysian singer-songwriter.

During July of 2011, she released her first single, Cinta Muka Buku, onto YouTube and got over 5 million views after just a few months time.

At just the age of 16, Najwa Latif released her first hit single called ‘Cinta Muka Buku’. It then became a hit on YouTube after receiving over 5 million views after a period of months. She may be the first Malaysian to get over 18 million views in total on YouTube.

Lately, she released her second single called ‘Carta Hati’, which received 159,310 views in 10 weeks time.

Najwa released her debut album, which is entitled by her own name ‘Najwa Latif’.

All of her singles are composed by herself while the lyrics are written by her sister, Shafiqa (Ika) Latif.

Yuna ”Live” in Singapore 2012

Music is one of the most powerful forces of unification. It has the power to heal, the power to help, the power to inspire, and the power to change.

Yuna understands the importance of music and has the ability to write songs that transcend any and all boundaries. With her soft vocals and warm acoustic guitar, this singer-songwriter crafts intriguing and infectious ruminations on life, love, and so much more.

Growing up in Malaysia, Yuna was first inspired by the universal appeal of acts like No Doubt, The Cranberries, and Fiona Apple. At the age of 19, while in law school, she picked up a guitar and began to fervently write. She released her self-titled EP in Malaysia in 2008. How To Get Android OTA Updates

While googling, I found this link that guided me step-by-step to get Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 into my Nexus 7.

But there is a quick little trick that will push the OTA update into my Nexus 7 immediately.

1. Go to Settings -> Apps -> All

2. Find Google Services Framework.

3. Tap on Force Stop.

4. Select Clear Data.

5. Head back to the Nexus 7’s Settings, go to About, and check for a System Update.

Jennifer Lopez “Dance Again World Tour” Live

Luscious Latin American dance queen Jennifer Lopez is set to hit the country with her much waited world tour this December.

A fabulous closing to 2012, the “Dance Again Tour” taken after her sole single Dance Again, as its name suggests will emphasize on Lopez’ latest dance hits and special high technique dance moves and choreography. Lopez’s first greatest hits album, Dance Again… the Hits, was released on July 24, 2012.

Lopez, who is a professionally trained dancer, specializing in ballet, jazz and flamenco, is well known for her upbeat pop songs and Latin-pop influenced dancing abilities. Search & Wings Double Trouble “Live” in Singapore

Performing live together for the first time in Singapore

After nearly two decades since their debut Double Trouble concert in 1993, Malaysian rock legends, Search and Wings, will finally be making their way down south to Singapore. They will be rocking and sharing the stage for the first time in Singapore at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in a one-night only concert on 12 October 2012. Tickets will be on sale via SISTIC from 6 August onwards.

The Double Trouble concert in Singapore will mark the bands’ first reunion since their last concert together in Malacca in 2011. It will also be the only concert planned for the year. In 2010 and 2011, die-hard fans were treated to sold-out concerts around Malaysia that spanned over several months. Search and Wings were at their peak of stardom when they decided to collaborate on an album in 1992. The album titled “Double Trouble” flew off the shelves upon its release, prompting the two bands to stage their first joint concert in 1993 and name their collaboration Double Trouble.

Search, consisting of members Amy (vocals), Yazit (drums), Kidd (guitar), Din (guitar) and Nasir (bass), has released more than 18 studio albums, recorded numerous bestselling compilation albums and won several awards since coming into the scene in 1981.
