Huawei E1550 USB 3G Modem on Windows 7

Got my USB modem dongle 1 month ago. When I connected it to my Win7 notebook, it does not seem to detect the modem but shown a removable storage that contained the Mobile Broadband Modem softwares and drivers.

After installing the software, the removable storage disappeared. Huawei E1550 USB 3G Modem was nowhere detected. Mobile Broadband Modem software prompted that the device was not connected. Try restarting Windows, but still no E1550 found.

I give-up and use the simcard on my Nexus One.

Yesterday, I tried googling for solutions, tried upgrading (I end up downgrading the firmware), but Win7 still can’t find the modem. Use my WinXP VMWare to downgrade the firmware as it detected the modem. Via Starhub’s website, it is confirmed that these firmwares supports Win7.

Review: Iron Maiden Live In Singapore

Singapore Indoor Stadium’s all-times attendance record for the venue was finally broken when 15,000 Iron Maiden’s fans came to watch the English heavy metal band from Leyton in east London, Iron Maiden, played in Singapore for the first time in history.

The Final Frontier World Tour is in conjunction with the band’s fifteenth studio album, The Final Frontier, that was released on August 16, 2010 worldwide.

I bought a Pen A ticket (S$178 + S$3) online on November 10, 2010. Not very sure that I can last standing for 3 hrs without sitting. Almost sold my ticket away to another fan but the deal was off when they were not prepared to pay the money first.

There were crowd control management, queue systems and ushering problems when I reached at the Singapore Indoor Stadium (7pm). Fans who came around four to five were not allowed in the stadium when it started to rain heavily. Everyone got drenched and pissed and broke through the barricade.

Big Night Out 2011

Comedy’s New Rock Star SUGAR SAMMY is set to host BIG NIGHT OUT Singapore 2011! The Hollywood Reporter just named him one of the top 10 rising comedy talents from around the world, and dubbed him “Comedy’s New Rock Star”.

Attention Rockers! Grammy winning hard rock band STONE TEMPLE PILOTS are headed to Singapore for the 3rd Annual BIG NIGHT OUT on March 11, 2011 at Singapore Indoor Stadium! Support acts include I AM GIANT and more to be announced.

Stone Temple Pilots

Since the moment they appeared on the scene in the early 90’s, Stone Temple Pilots dominated the decade from start to finish, racking up 15 singles on the Billboard Top Ten, winning a “Best Hard Rock Performance” GRAMMY in 1994 for for “Plush,” and having their five albums sell more than 35 million copies worldwide.

Of all their peers, STP alone had sustained commercial success, earning greater critical acclaim with each release, building a body of work that remains popular and its enduring acclaim has only highlighted the absence of the band, who quietly went their separate ways after the turn-of the millennium release of Shangri-La Dee Da. Despite the presence of the greatest hits album Thank You in 2003, there was a generation that has never witnessed the live power of the vocalist Scott Weiland, guitarist Dean DeLeo,bassist Robert DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz live in concert. That all changed when the band reunited for a massive concert tour in 2008.

Attention Rockers! Hard Rock Guitar legend SLASH featuring Myles Kennedy is headed back to Singapore for the 3rd Annual BIG NIGHT OUT on March 12, 2011 at Singapore Indoor Stadium! Support acts include British heavy metal legends SAXON and Australian rock band TWENTY TWO HUNDRED.

Few artists in rock ‘n’ roll can carry off a single name, and carry it with gravitas. That is except Slash. And few guitarists command as much respect as Slash. So when he started making calls to his all-star wish list of singers and players he wanted to work with him on his current album, he didn’t hear no. Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Kid Rock, Dave Grohl and Fergie all artists who have the luxury of saying no to plenty of requests – all easily and quickly said yes. And so, Slash, was born.

Since emerging into the frontline of iconic rockers with the late-‘80s surge of his seminal band Guns N’ Roses, has been one of the world’s most sought after guitarists. Iconic musicians are often looking to Slash to add that special touch to recordings. From Michael Jackson (“Black and White,” “Give In to Me”) to Ray Charles to Stevie Wonder, directors Quentin Tarantino and Darren Aronofsky (core contributions to the soundtrack of “Jackie Brown” and the signature sound of the score to “The Wrestler”), the top figures in modern music and popular culture have demanded the definitive rock guitarist of a generation. Critics and fans alike still debate the best rock riffs of all time with “Sweet Child O’ Mine” consistently taking top honors. And a Time Magazine survey placed Slash second only to Jimi Hendrix among electric guitarists. Slash is ever modest about his place in rock history, loathe to even consider it.

Slash’s history encompasses Guns N’ Roses, his own Slash’s Snakepit band and two global hit albums anchoring Velvet Revolver in recent years, but the Slash album will be his first solo effort. The album is centered around the theme that no matter who is singing, there’s an energy, excitement and, above all, musicality to the guitar playing that elevates and unifies the music throughout.

After Guns N’ Roses sold more than 100 million albums worldwide and dominated the music industry with its signature album “Appetite For Destruction”, Slash went on to see critical acclaim with Slash’s Snakepit and global success with Velvet Revolver. Fans have also flocked to imitate Slash style in Guitar Hero III: Legend of Rock where he is one of the most recognized playable characters. He is also know as a guitar connoisseur, owning more than 100 guitars, many custom made for him, and a Gibson Signature Slash model made in his honor.

The solo album comes on the recent heels of several other projects such as recording songs with Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones on his upcoming solo album, writing and performing his first full film score, sitting in with the Black Eyed Peas in concert, and co-writing his 2007 autobiography Slash. All signs indicate Slash won’t be slowing down anytime soon.

Eric Clapton Live in Singapore

LUSHINGTON ENTERTAINMENTS is proud to announce Eric Clapton on his 2011 world tour. Clapton will perform in Singapore on 14 Feb 2011 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Directly on the heels of Eric Clapton’s new album, “Clapton”, being released, the artist announced an initial set of dates for his 2011 tour that will encompass Ireland and the U.K. including four nights at London’s famed Royal Albert Hall. Additional touring dates include Asia, which will take place in February 2011.

Critics are already raving about the latest Clapton album as a new and inspiring body of work by one of the world’s most legendary guitar players. Co-produced by guitarist and long-time collaborator Doyle Bramhall II, the album features an all star cast of musical collaborations starting with the legendary JJ Cale, drummer Jim Keltner, bassist Willie Weeks, and keyboardist Walt Richmond—and the sessions later added guests including Steve Winwood, Wynton Marsalis, Sheryl Crow, Allen Toussaint, and Derek Trucks. Clapton created a collection that touches on everything from century-old traditional brass bands to little-known country blues to brand-new originals. The result is both relaxed and revelatory, and unlike anything the guitarist has done in his legendary career.

Clapton has assembled an impressive band for the 2011 tour which will consist of long-time touring partners: Steve Gadd (drums), Willie Weeks (bass), Chris Stainton (keyboards) along with Michelle John and Sharon White as backing vocalists.

Eric Clapton is the only triple inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame (as a member of both the Yardbirds and Cream and as a solo artist). He has also won or shared in eighteen Grammy Awards. Clapton has also contributed to numerous artists’ albums over the decades and toured extensively performing thousands of concerts around the globe. Throughout his career, critics and fans have viewed Clapton as one of the most important and influential guitarists of all time. Clapton was ranked fourth in Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” and #53 on their list of the “Immortals: 100 Greatest Artists of All Time”. In 2010, Clapton was ranked #4 on Gibson’s Top 50 Guitarists of All Time.

The 2011 concerts mark the return of Eric Clapton to these shores since his Far East Tour in 2007.
